Big discount in summer sale on oculus Rift and Touch bundle

Oculus dropped price of the Rift + Touch bundle to $399 for the next six weeks, making it a high-end VR solution at a mid-tier price

If you’ve been contemplating buying into a VR platform, you probably know how difficult it is to pick between the different available options, but Oculus might just have made that decision a little easier with its latest price drop. The complete Rift + Touch bundle is now available for $399–a second $200 price drop on top of the drop we saw back in March.

The $399 bundle includes the Rift headset, Touch controllers, a wireless Xbox controller, two Constellation cameras, the cables you need to connect everything to your PC, and seven free games. These include Lucky’s Tale, Medium, Toybox, Quill, Dead and Buried, Dragon Front, and Robo Recall.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that standalone Touch controllers have been discounted – a pair of those on their own will still set you back $99. If you’ve already got a Rift headset, then, there isn’t much in this sale for you.

Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that you can’t simply dive into VR just by picking up this bundle. You’ll also need a relatively beefy PC, with Oculus recommending either a NVIDIA GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 480 or better. Alternatively, if you’ve got a previous-generation graphics card, Oculus recommends at least a GTX 970 or an R9 290, but it’s also recommend that you have a Core i5-4590 or Ryzen 5 1500X along with at least 8GB of RAM.
